Adega is inspired by the deep climatic and cultural parallels between Portugal and South Australia. With the cold Southern Ocean nearby and the Adelaide Hills rising to the east, McLaren Vale carries an unmistakable resemblance to Portugal’s coastal wine regions.
Founded by winemaker Henry Smale, Adega explores Portuguese varieties and winemaking traditions through the vineyards of McLaren Vale. Each release is shaped by place, season, and a simple intent: to create wines that feel both familiar and quietly distinct.
